Lighten Up

Saturday's weigh in at L.E.A.N Fitness was encouraging. Though there's still a long way to go, things appear to be heading in the right direction. We had another fabulous meal at Cabana's Tuesday night. My wife had salmon and I had chipotle lime shrimp. They both were excellent!
Shelby's service was superb. For those Lighten Up participants who haven't been to Cabana's, it's well worth it. This morning, I'm heading out to Lake County General Health District to meet with Cori for my monthly assessment. One area where I need help is getting going on Vitabot.

We didn't make it out to Cabana's for another one of their great meals last night. Between my working late and the snow, it didn't work out. Hopefully, we'll be there next week. I had pasta for the first time since starting in Lighten Up. I had a wheat based pasta and didn't eat the whole dish. My weekly weigh ins continued to be encouraging. This week will be a big test since we have our first Lighten Up weigh-in since starting in the program.

Lighten Up

Another week down. While, there's still a long way to go, I'm feeling a little bit better around the middle. The pants are buttoning a little more easily. I'm trying to keep up my exercise regimen. I swam this morning for the first time in a few months. It's nice to do that 1-2 times a week. It helps to balance the monotony of the weights/cardio regimen at the gym. I had a virus for a couple of months and the prospect of jumping into a cold pool at 5:00 A.M. was not appealing. We had another great meal at Cabana's last night. My wife had the shrimp and I had the pesto fillet. They were both very good.

Lighten Up

It's been an interesting few days. I had a bit of a test on Thursday evening through Saturday morning. Went to Punxsutawney Pennsylvania with some college buddies for Groundhog Day and the events that lead up to it. So we're dealing with restaurant food, some of which isn't so good for you. I had a gyro salad Thursday night. The motel we stayed at had complimentary light breakfasts, so that worked out okay. The restaurant we spent time at on Friday offered only pizza, wings and french fries, so I skipped lunch. At some other stops, I snacked on veggies & dip and some cheese cubes.

My wife and I had a fabulous meal at Cabana's last night. With the coupon for my meal, it was two meals for the price of one. My wife had the Chicken Romano. She said that it and the vegetables were very good. I had the Chicken Fiesta. It was fabulous and had a spicey kick to it. Danielle, the waitress, and Josh, the manager were both excellent and courteous. Thanks to Laura Kessel for arranging the free meal and to Mike Good and the staff at Cabanas for providing it. We look forward to going again. For those Lighten Up participants who haven't tried it, it's well worth it.
